In the 2012 season the PollerWiesen team found a suitable location for the PollerWiesen Festival 1.0 in the Dortmund area Wischlingen -but after a more than successful start- the organizers remained in Cologne. Unfortunately, May 2013 denied continuation of the festival due to bad weather. We missed the festival in Dortmund this year but.. we will make it up to you on 1 september !
The first, 3 dates in Dortmund were cancelled but the fourth alternative date is found. Too beautiful are (still) the memories of the first PollerWiesen festival in the Wischlingen area and also nice is the location close to the inner city of Dortmund. This PollerWiesen will take place on a smaller scale : the Mainstage will be filled with a potpourri of PollerWiesen headliners and the Hidden Stage will be hosted by the Winners of the PollerWiesen DJ/producer contest. The Beach and Hilltop Stage will be back in May 2014 at the PollerWiesen Festival 2.0 !
20 years PollerWiesen compilation
On the Mainstage we celebrate something very special : the release of the 20 year PollerWiesen compilation, which is available from 28 August. The compilation is a true journey through electronic music from 1993 to 2013, mixed by DJ Hell. You can hear 20 handpicked tracks which represent all the years from the rich PollerWiesen history ! DJ Hell will host the mainstage together with the lovely Nina Kraviz, the allround champion Timo Maas, dynamic duo Pan-Pot, and the shooting stars Andhim & Jonathan Lässig.
Give youngsters a stage
On the Hidden Stage you might look for big names but we give youngsters a stage this time ! We did a PollerWiesen Newcomer Contest 2013 this season and from a total of 432 applications we chose 7 winners. The PollerWiesen crew we're very critical and gave the best seven a chance to show their skills and technique. Full line-up: Duebbers & van Meegen, Junger, Kaleidisko, Stefan Luckmann, Ulf Alexander, Tangram & Alexander Reidegeld.
As already mentioned, the Revierpark area in the district of Wischlingen is an ideal venue for the festival. But even in this smaller set-up, as now on 1 September, the park is ideal for a full PollerWiesen experience. The area is surrounded by tall trees and provides enough space to relax and chill on a picnic blanket. There will be a Food Area and numerous counters to provide you ice-cold drinks. The festival area is perfectly connected to the public transport and is very easy to reach by bicycle. Of course, there are also good parking facilities for those visitors who arrive by car. With major events organized the last years PollerWiesen has proven traffic concepts and a smooth process is guaranteed.
