You can't always have what you want in life. But there is an exception to every rule. The first Blaue Lagune Open Air event has everything a sophisticated party professional could dream of. First of all, Blaue Lagune is located at a beautiful lake with water clean enough to drink and a sandy beach that is about 1.000 meters long. Secondly, there will be 10.000 other party people ready to get loose. And last but certainly not least, the godfather of techno, Sven Väth, will be spinning a four-hour set. After 10 successful years with Blauer See Open Air in Ratingen, Sven Väth and a variety of guest djs are now determined to turn the small town Wachtendonk, just outside the Dutch border, into the new Mekka for the techno community.
Connoisseurs of classical music will reach their climax when the Johann Strauss waltz "Blue Danube" gets played at the Vienna Opera Ball. Techno fans, on the other hand, are in heaven when Sven Väth, the guru of electronic music, plays the hottest techno releases at the beautiful Blaue Lagune. The living legend guarantees a full house - or in this case, a full beach.
From now on, the new Blaue Lagune Open Air event will take place every year, host-ed by Sven Väth who will be inviting a handpicked group of renowned DJ friends. Together they will put just the right flavor in your ear to make it a perfect spring day. This year, Sven Väth presents djs Dixon, Mathias Kaden, Olivier Weiter and Mitch. A strong line-up like this at the first Open-Air-Event is setting the bar high for years to come.
In 2013, Dixon was voted "world's best DJ" by the official information platform residentadvisors.net. So prepare for a heated performance. Fun fact : Dixon is not only the CEO of Innervisions, he also owns a bakery in Berlin. Dixon specializes in long-haul entertainment. He always knows just what to do to get a large crowd screaming for hours from one highlight to the next.
Mathias Kaden has a reputation for banging funky ethno-percussion styles that make the crowd want to gallop over the dance floor. Rooted in the tradition of 90s house music, he continues to discover new sound worlds, earning more and more fans from all over the globe.
The Dutch hypnotherapist, Olivier Weiter, is famous and notorious for sucking the last bit of energy out of the dancing crowd. His sets are so irresistible that techno lovers are more than willing to go beyond their physical boundaries.
The program will be rounded off by the up and coming DJ Mitch from Cologne whose unique sound has become more than just an insider's tip even far beyond the borders of "cathedral city".
But the actual stars at Blaue Lagune Open Air are the party hungry techno fans who already made Blauer See Open Air a huge success, and of course, mother nature who has provided this beautiful, idyllic lake at the western tip of Germany. Owing to its natural beach atmosphere, high-quality drinking water, state-of-the-art waterski facilities, high-wire garden and other attractions, for the third year in a row, Blaue Lagune in Wachtendonk was voted the most popular lake for swimming in North Rhine-Westphalia.
Party guests who would like to spend the night at this lovely piece of earth can rent a camp space directly on the camp grounds. For all other visitors, there are sufficient free parking facilities available. The official partner of Blaue Lagune Open Air, partytickets.de, is organizing bus tours to the event from all over NRW. Rail pas-sengers get off the train at Kaldenkirchen Bahnhof.
Blaue Lagune Open Air will take place regardless of the weather. The optional rain roof will provide enough room for 3.500 people.
