New Year's Eve deserves a special treat, and what could be better than two of the most influential Ghent-based event concepts teaming up for this special occasion. Kozzmozz and Roots of Minimal will be joining forces for a night that will celebrate the great and good of our beloved underground techno, minimal and house music. You can expect an on-point and innovative set of well-established artists, along with the well-known quality that has marked both event-concepts ever since. This will be the biggest party of the year so don't sleep on tickets !
In the Kozzmozz-room we're delighted to welcome the following techno titans :
Oscar Mulero (PoleGroup, Warm Up - Madrid)
Oscar Mulero is a cherished guest at Kozzmozz. He has always been a credible artist with an exceptional high quality output. With releases on the very best techno labels of the planet, Mulero has put himself definitively on the world techno map. As for his DJ sets, Oscar appeared in legendary clubs like Berghain, Gare Porto and Trouw. Today he continues to push his own labels "PoleGroup" and "Warm Up", as well as releasing work with others such as Token or the Spherical Coordinates project.
Johannes Heil (Figure, Cocoon - Frankfurt)
This ever-brilliant techno legend has explored many faces of electronic music and featured them on his labels Metatron and JH-Records, and other important labels like Cocoon Recordings and Len Faki's label Figure. The feelings of his tracks are just as diverse, ranging from pure danceability to deep musical journeys, dark and mysterious on one hand, but bright and full of life on the other. His new album "Black Light" - out on November 23th - has that same approach. Blending tradition and progress, past and future, his work is the soundtrack for the now.
Paula Temple (R&S - Berlin)
Paula Temple, part of the legendary R&S family, made one of the biggest statements for uncompromising techno with her debut "Colonized EP". She made some striking appearances on Jeff Mills' "Exhibitionist" album and techno vanguard Chris McCormack's "Materials" label. Her hybrid live/dj-sets have become a sensation in such scene bastions as BLOC, Berghain and Tresor.
Border One (Ressort Imprint, Wolfskuil - Ghent)
Carefully sculpturing his way out of the shadows, Border One crafts a unique story with his music : exploring the borders of our being through sound, movement and perception. With heavy support for his first release on Darko Esser's Wolfskuil label by DJ's like Ben Klock the light seems to shine brighter than ever for Stevie P. We will already see him shine now !
Spacid (Kozzmozz - Ghent)
Spacid has been playing for Kozzmozz since the first editions on the boat and his career spans even more than 20 years of techno knowledge. He remains a greatly in demand techno DJ who does not bound himself to one specific scene or genre. When it comes to the minimal/house-room, Roots of Minimal is proud to announce this excellent bunch of artists who will be holding down the dance.
Mano Le Tough (Maeve - Zurich)
German-based musician, dj and music producer Mano Le Tough's eclectic musical selections have earmarked him as a truly unique force in dance music. He has remixed and been remixed by many artists including Tensnake, Chateau Flight and Azari & III. Amidst all of this activity, Mano has also been busy cultivating a label of his own, Maeve. His new album, the recently completed and much-anticipated "Trails" was released this October.
Daniel Bortz (Pastamusik - Munich)
Daniel Bortz got his training as a producer with the Munich label Pastamusik. Ever since he's been refining his sound between crate digging, house-nostalgia, digitally transferred dance music, sample insanity and a healthy dose of eclecticism. Be it '80s new wave, '90s West Coast hip hop, disco or dance mania, Daniel Bortz brings things together that aren't bound up with realness and schools. He fuses his own world of sound for today's dance floor.
DkA (Brüxsel Jardin - Brussels)
DkA is a Brussels based producer of deep-house and house music, who is highly appreciated, signed and released by various labels such as "Lift Your Head Up" or "Blank Slate". Recently, DkA released several solo EPs which have appeared on Brüxsel Jardin, amongst others. Being inspired by Hiphop -, 70's Funk - and Jazz music, DkA tends to merge all this influences whilst maintaining a solid minimal tech and deep house feeling.
AMyn (Moodfamily - Ghent)
AMyn's deep interest in sound design combined with a love for melancholy makes his tunes a unique and memorable combination. Always developing his sound, his only goal is to evoke an emotion or feeling for the listener by telling his story through the music. Looking for a platform to release more material and to give talented yet unknown artists a chance he decided to start the Moodfamily label together with friend and colleague Beazar. AMyn's live-sets caught a lot of attention and praise throughout the years.
KooDoo (Moodfamily - Ghent)
KooDoo, proud member of Moodfamily, aims to provide you refreshing dance tunes, perfectly suitable for boobiebuffets, nightly cartrips through desolate communist landscapes or gatherings on space ships fuelled with gin. Beside that KooDoo also enjoys peeled kiwi's, Jean's spaghetti's, people talking cockney English and mourning on a Sunday evening.
