Age of Love remains the biggest retro success story in the country. Even after 8 years of existence, Age of Love sells out time after time, this was again the case on the previous event, the 8th birthday in 3 rooms of the Artcube. This summer they will be hosting their own stage on Tomorrowland for the third time around. Before they touch down on Belgium's most illustrious festival, the second "Age of Love" compilation will be presented to the public in Vooruit on June 4th. Just like the previous one, it will feature two cd's with the biggest anthems from the parties, all completely re-mastered in an exclusive double cd box. You can expect tracks as "Higher in the Sky" and "Trance Dimanche" from The Mackenzie, "Love Stimulation" from Humate, "Morphosis" from Metamorphosis, next to a lot of other gems, the complete track-listing will be revealed a couple of weekes before the party so stay tuned !
On each Age of Love event the glorious days of Belgium's rich electronic music history and the great nights of the Belgian clubs are relived, featuring the best tracks of the nineties and this in a setting that completely restores the atmosphere of those magical times : dancers, lasers, gadgets and more bring the public back to the time when we all partied for days on end. While doing so, Age of Love not only attracts those people that were there back in the days but also the new generations who discover and fall in love with the music that's at the basis of today's electronic scene, for the first time.
Together we all create the early atmosphere of love, late night dancing and beautiful house music. We do it to the best classics around, brought by international guests and the best Belgian dj's from the biggest clubs of that time.
The first international guest is Da Hool, one of the main players of the "techno-underground" during the late '80 and all of the 90's. When the majors rejected his fourth single "Meet Her at the Loveparade" in 1996, he started his own business : Hool-Productions and brought his own single on the market. "Meet Her at the Loveparade" immediately hit it big and would become the manifesto of the house generation. Since then Da Hool toured all the hip clubs and raves in the world and produced remixes for some of the biggest artists and projects of the time (e.g. Sven Väth, Westbam, Paul van Dyk). He also produced other projects, as for example "La Rocca", "Central Love", "Hool's Experience" and "An Active Trip", for labels like Frankfurt Beat, Logic Records, Music Man Belgium, Important Records, etc.
He will be joined by Jaydee who has joined Age of Love already several times. His track "Plastic Dreams" is also one of the biggest hits the dance world ever produced. This founder of ID-T radio also made other hits as "Fiesta" and "Que si que No". And hell yes, we want to hear them again !
Next up is Yves Deruyter who played all famous Belgian clubs such as Globe, Barocci, Cherrymoon, Extreme, Carat, BBC, La Rocca and many more. He celebrated his 30th anniversary in the business last year and intends to stay in it for a very long time to come. One thing's for sure, on Age of Love, he's always welcome.
Frank Struyf aka Zolex also has such a long history you could write a book on his career. In the early nineties, he became resident of the mythical club Globe and later after-club Carat. In 1993 he created "Time Modulator", a timeless classic sold all over the world. On his own label Zolex Records, he delivers top quality Electronic, Techno and Trance releases. He was a resident at Barocci (NL), Katsu and frequently guest DJ in Extreme, Cherrymoon and Illusion as well as a lot of international events.
From the Extreme era we welcome our very own resident and Age of Love promoter Quincy as well as long time Extreme resident Phi-Phi who single-handed turned their Monday nights into some of the most legendary nights the Belgian club-scene had ever witnessed. And from those other legendary nights but then on Sunday, we have Marko de la Rocca over for another one of his greats sets.
To top off this impressive list of performers, there are also two dj's from the very beginning, starting with Olivier Pieters who made his name in the institutions of Belgian nightlife namely Boccacio and Balmoral. And DJ Halogen whose tracks like "Habituate" and "Fast escape" scored high in the dance charts and were respectively released on Yeti records and Bonzai Trance progressive. As a DJ he plays futuristic yet timeless authentic house music.
So get ready to be submerged in extravagant dancing action, loud cheers, big smiles all around and hands up in the air on numerous occasions. You will hear only those tracks that send chills up everybody's spine and that make everyone's temperature rise : those true old school classics which are still engraved in everyone's memory and record collections. And this time you will also be able to take the magic home !
