On Planet K, our virtual environment is based on artificial intelligence : the intelligence exhibited by machines or software capable of self-intelligent behaviour in an environment fully driven by self-regulatory algorithms. Based on self-organizing and interconnected cellular structures, these code-driven digital beings grow, move and evolve like the fluency of time, speed and space. The way they move, the way they evolve, the way in which they propagate as well as their existence is based on a mysterious coherent collection of rational fixed algorithms.
These dynamic cellular structures are created using various methods of infinite subdivision on geometric objects and exhibit different kinds of biological interactions with each other to reach equilibrium within our planetary ecosystem. As such, our planet has the ability to transcend gimmickry. This allows our musical project to transform into a true orbital audio-visual experience for our visitors. Come and experience this miraculous display on our next mission.
The experience will be brought to life by two international guests who are very relevant at the moment as well as our resident K beings.
Our first guest immersed in the heydays of the '90s Midwest rave scene. DVS1 quickly gained a highly-respected reputation for his versatile skills, infectious energy and physical power behind the decks. As a resident of Berlin's infamous Berghain / Panorama Bar, he moves floors of the world's most prestigious and best venues, crafting the art of DJ'ing through always being in the mix, pushing his own boundaries and sensitively reacting to the people's energy. DVS1's vision of techno is based on the physical power of music. Zak's pure approach of sound being his personal channel to capture the very moment in time is as dedicated as his continuation to shape the electronic scene in his hometown Minneapolis - from throwing illegal warehouse parties to owning a nightclub to running his own sound company for two decades. After his first original releases on Klockworks and Transmat, he was introduced to a bigger audience. This created a strong fellowship for his own imprints : HUSH showcases DVS1's love for deep, purist techno and only his own music while Mistress Recordings reflects his wide range as a beat and rhythm addict presenting some of his secret weapons that touch all corners of the dance floor and beyond. With a combination of deep musical knowledge, unparalleled enthusiasm and a vinyl collection of more than 30, 000 records, DVS1 is also renowned as an outspoken defender of underground's true values.
Robert Hood needs little introduction. Founding member of the legendary group Underground Resistance as "Minister of Information" with "Mad" Mike Banks & Jeff Mills, his seminal works on Jeff Mill's Axis and his very own M-Plant imprint paved the way for a wave of stripped-down dance-floor minimalism that directed much of techno's path throughout the late Nineties and is still of influence today. Robert Hood makes minimal Detroit techno with an emphasis on soul and experimentation over flash and popularity. Having recorded for Metroplex, Jeff Mills' Axis label as well as Patrick Pulsingers Cheap label, Peacefrog and more recently Music Man and Dekmantel, Hood also owns and operates the M-Plant imprint, through which he's released the bulk of his solo material. The label celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2014. And then we haven't even touched his other monikers Floorplan, Monobox, The Vision, etc. "M-Plant is what I've always wanted to hear : the basic stripped down, raw sound. Just drums, basslines and funky grooves and only what is essential to make people move. I started to look at it as a science, the art of making people move their butts, speaking to their heart, mind and soul. It's a heart-felt rhythmic techno sound."
And then there's Kr!z. He has been a Kozzmozz resident for about a decade now but he's much more than that and can easily take his place between the international guests. Kr!z always had a strong sympathy for the more gloomy, dark, rawer sound of techno. In 2007, he felt there was too much good music around from his favourite artists that didn't get a proper release, so he started his own label Token. He rapidly established the label as a fixed value in the techno scene of today by bringing a timeless & powerful techno sound. In the 9 years of its existence Token released tracks & remixes from Inigo Kennedy, Phase, Luke Slater, James Ruskin, Marcel Dettmann, Blawan, Surgeon, Ben Klock, Oscar Mulero & Peter Van Hoesen amongst others. His Token label nights are also a great success after memorable nights in Berlin (Berghain & Tresor), Brussels (Fuse), Shanghai, London, Rotterdam and more.
The night is topped off with our regular Spacid who was featured in the last Dutch DJ Magazine with a Podcast and an interview. Next to guiding the Kozzmozz spaceship into new and unexplored territories, you can regularly catch him on various parties and festivals around the country as well as abroad.
All the audio rhythms produced by these sound commanders will be perfectly tuned into the visual algorithms of Planet K to create a completely space out environment and experience. It will be out of this world ! Step through the portal with us and fly into the ongoing methamorphing of beats and images for a true Paradygm Shift !
