Age of Love rarely ventures out of their hometown Ghent ... except when they are offered big festival stages as the one on Tomorrowland where they will be touching down for the third time in July. But never to clubs, except for this one time in August when they are taking their extremely successful concept to the former La Bush club for a well deserved Summer Break. Now called the Pulse Café, the main room of this state-of-the -art club has one of the best sound-systems in the country and the most impressive lightshow ever. Age of Love promoter Quincy loves this club so much that he gladly makes a one-off exception to the rule of not hosting Age of Love parties in a club. For him, this club does not only perfectly aligns with the production standards of Age of Love, it actually exceeds them.
The party will get started in the afternoon at 16h00 with a true outdoor Ibiza party by the pool and beach. On the line-up two of the biggest Ibiza veterans ever with the legendary DJ Pippi from Pacha fame and Privilege's long-time resident César de Melero. César was also one of the first residents of Space and a resident at "People from Ibiza" in Amnesia for six years. They will be joined by Tofke who regularly played DC-10 and many other spots on the magical island throughout the years. Completing this outdoor extravaganza are Marko de la Rocca and Youri Parker from Cherry Moon. Get out those bathing suits and dance in the sun with us !
The main room will be a full blown Age of Love party as they are known from their always sold-out editions in Vooruit and Artcube in Ghent. On the line-up the biggest Belgian dj's from the nineties and two international big guns. M.I.K.E. aka Push may be Belgian but he's been residing in New York for longer and his hits have conquered the world : "Universal Nation" on Bonzai, "Strange World" and "The Legacy" to name but a few. He has remixed artists as varied as Sinéad O'Connor, Moby, Mauro Picotto, Bomfunk MC's, Oliver Lieb, Psy'Aviah, and Ian Van Dahl. He's a regular gust at Age of Love and we know why. Also becoming quite regulars at Age of Love are Nalin & Kane who never disappoint, quite the contrary. Their most popular hit being "Beachball" of which half a million copies were sold worldwide. It landed them remixes for big names as Kylie Minogue, Frankie goes to Hollywood, Sven Väth and many others. Their biggest remix from Da Hool's "Meet her at the Loveparade" became thé hymn of the house-generation and that's what we are at "Age of Love", thé house generation. The Belgians are led by DJ George's, owner of the club who only rarely still plays himself except for one or two parties a year, usually one in his own club and one on Age of Love. We go on with our regulars as Yves Deruyter, CP, Michael Forzza and Olivier Pieters. And for this special occasion Age of Love resident and promoter Quincy will team up with Mr. Sam who made quite a reputation for himself with records out on Bedrock and more. That the main room, will be rocking all night long, that's already for sure.
The second room is in hands of "The Sound of Belgium", the documentary that put the nineties back in the spotlight and showcases the spirit of our rich electronic past and made it known to the masses. The show was recently also taken on the road all over the country with sold-out venues and raving reviews as a result. In this room you will find famous producer Frank De Wulf from the notorious B-Sides as well as Eric B who's extensive knowledge of new beat and early house music is featured largely in the documentary, as well as Phi Phi from Extreme and Franky Jones from Carat. To top it all of, Jozef Devillé who made the film, will leave his directors chair for a spot behind the decks also.
A true nineties party must have an after-party when possible so that one will be in the hands of Laurent Top of La Bush, Brandy from Catacombes and Johan from At The Villa. The real after-party spirit in which we all hope that the party will never stop !
Make sure you're well rested before heading down to our Summer Break because you may just need another break after. ;)
