The re-launch of one of the most famous clubs our country ever knew took place in January. And it was an immediate hit : a full room raved the night away to the sounds of Reboot and Amelie Lens. They couldn't have wished for a better start and now they are even more motivated to keep presenting you impressive line-ups of "underground electronic music" with names that you all want to hear next to fast rising talents. For the March edition, they have chosen a name who's tracks have blasted through their mighty sound-system uncountable times : the major and imposing Dj Rush !
With 3 dancefloors, 4 bars and two full blown rooms, Lagoa was one of the biggest clubs in the country at the start of the 90's. Lagoa has one of the most advanced sound-systems in Europe and its sound can easily live up to that of the great German clubs which is definitely one of their biggest assets. They also have intelligent light-systems which were way ahead of their time and still are state-of-the-art. So Lagoa is ready to reclaim its reputation and get back in the game, programming advanced line-ups with names that rule dance-floors around the world.
They can still pride on the best sound-system in the country, the kind that makes you feel the bass from the tips of your toes to the hairs on your head. The kind of sound that makes it impossible not to dance ! The kind of sound that made the nights at Lagoa into some of the best nights on the dancefloor and the atmosphere absolutely overwhelming ! The kind of sound-system on which tracks as "Motha Fuckin Bass", "Spitball" or "I Love You" sound better than ever because there's probably no club in the world that played as many Dj Rush hits as Lagoa did.
He was and is an absolute public's favorite. He started making a name for himself in the early 90's from his hometown Chicago on the legendary Trax Records. He quickly got picked up by other major labels as Green Velvet's Relief Records and Force Inc. as well as by Miss Djax for her Djax-Up-Beats label. She released several of his big hits and they brought him a huge reputation in Europe. His sound is characterized by heavy percussion, rhythms and vocals that get you shaking your asses like no other. Hence the reason why they were played so often in Lagoa.
These days he's mostly producing for and running his own label Kne' Deep on which you'll also find several collaborations between Rush and J. Fernandes, the man he will be bringing for his return to Lagoa. You can also expect a lot of new material because Dj Rush just released a brand new album on Kne' Deep: Dance to the Drums ! And that's what you'll be doing all night long on March 18th !
Add to those Clerkie who spent most of his youth in Lagoa and longtime resident Dj HS who knows the public like no other and you know that another "Major" night is waiting for you in Lagoa.
