Bartosz Brenes

Bartosz Brenes"Bartosz Brenes is one of Belgium's capital's most talented DJ's. He's shown his talent many times at important Belgian clubs such as Fuse, the You or Soho Club. A young talent discovered here, on our site, and we're not just a little proud! His astonishing and early career is promising of a bright future for Bartosz. Very present thoughout the capital's events and on the radio (recently on Fun Radio), he will be at the ready, like a gladiator behind his turntable, to give you powerful sounds to which he hold the secret..."

Bartosz Brenes was born in Costa Rica on July 25th 1989. He moved to Belgium in 2003 (where he currently resides). Half Costa Rican half Polish, Bartosz was raised in a loving family, always encouraging him to go forth and make opportunities for himself.

Since an early age, Bartosz was very keen on music, he listened to all different styles: from the Bee Gees to Prodigy including Robert Miles, Savage Garden and the Carpenters among many others. Many say he's gifted with a "musical ear", which would explain his talent of playing instruments like the piano or drums in the late 90's.

His interest in House music began in 2004, when he started going to local clubs. But he only discovered a passion for deejaying in February 2005. In 2005, Bartosz, like many DJ's, started learning on his own. It wasn't until October that same year that he took this passion seriously. That same month Bartosz met Timofey Reznikov, a talented Russian deejay and producer living in Brussels.

Timofey happened to be looking for a DJ to complete the line up at an event he was organizing at the Milk Club, and proposed that Bartosz bring his personal touch to the party. A couple of days later Bartosz was mixing in one of Brussels's most prestigious venues: the You Night Club.

As time went by, Bartosz was invited to various events in Brussels. In November, Bartosz delighted over 1000 listeners through two live radio broadcasts with DJ Laurenzinho. In December he was invited to play at the Mirano Continental with Murvin Jay (from Bamboola Prod) and other DJs.

In March 2006, Bartosz Brenes and Nick In Time, remixed Da*Star!'s "I GOT THE MUSIC". The remix was never released but was nevertheless playlisted by DJ's and radios in France, Romania, Belgium, the UK, Italy, ... and was even play in several podcasts. Thanks to that production and to Nick In Time's talented and knowledge, Bartosz decides to start producing!

2006 has undoubtedly been one of Bartosz' most successful year so far. Not only has the lists of venues he has played at grown considerably, but he also had the opportunity to share the decks with great deejays such as Elektrokid, Miss Luna, Patrick Balzat, and many more. 2006 is also the year in which Bartosz Brenes along with Christophe Debin and Sylvain Coppens cofounded Line-Up, a new DJ booking agency.

2007, has started off quite well for Bartosz Brenes. He has a quarterly residence at the Soho Club (for the Jet-Set parties) where he mixes along with other special guests. Later this year, Bartosz launched his own show on Student's Radio called NIGHT SESSION. Bartosz even had the honor to mix on Fun Radio's "Noise In Fun", were he was invited by Olivier Gosseries to play an hour of electro-flavoured House music after Olivier's weekly mix and just before Robbie Rivera's mix.

At the end or March, Bartosz is also playing on ClubXtreme (Radio Nova, Let’s Go Zik Radio, BE Radio)
Thanks to that lucky break, Bartosz is now resident on Fun Radio twice a month. You can listen to his Monthly Selection as well as his new Paris One Selection starting April 2007! Today, Bartosz's agenda doesn't stop growing. He now does gigs not only in Brussels but beyond that starting point.

If you thought that's all, he recently started producing on Ableton Live thanks to a great mentor and inspiration, T*mofey, and in collaboration with the young and talented Belgian producer Eli V. Bartosz Brenes' main influences are Eric Prydz, T*mofey, Klaas, Joachim Garraud, Superstar Records and Serial Records.
