Ryan Rorden

He fell into the world of Electronic Music on the islands of Hawaii. Originally influenced in 2000 by classic productions created by artists such as Sasha and Digweed, Carl Cox, B.T., Quest, and more. Usually mixed by his favorite local Dj "Archangel", and many others in the old Hawaiian music scene.

In this world he found himself in wonder of the art performed by the Djs and Composers around him and knew that this was a life changing event for him, this was the life he wanted to lead. To share music with the world. He had found his love and his love changed his life forever.

Upon returning to the mainland, in Tucson AZ, he obtained his first pair of turntables in 2001 and has not stopped mixing since then, though there were brief hiatus's from his love for many reasons (although he wishes he had never stopped for a second).

As his love for the music evolved he frequently felt that the popular music around him in the club scene and rave scene were not compatible with what he loved to play at the time. And so he chose to spend his time at home, playing music for his love of music, instead of compromising this and playing what would be enjoyed out in the scene but not loved by him. Looking back he feels this was neither a correct nor incorrect choice as both paths offer virtues and faults.

Right around the time deep house and tech house became popular in 2003-4 he finally felt he might be able to contribute something to the world of music around him. At this point he began playing at the local Dj Competition in a club called Heart V. Though the music was in him his fear of playing in front of a crowd and unfamiliarity with turntables and mixers other then his own often got the best of him.

He accepted this and went on enjoying the music himself. Years later upon a return to Tucson from phoenix he found Electro House and fell in love. This was a style he loved that he felt others could dance to in the Tucson scene and of which he did not see very much influence currently in that local arena at the time.

From this he created a residency with another local Dj named ShaggleRock on a night called Wax Wednesdays. This progressed slowly through skill and musical styles while hosting and learning from many guest Djs including local favorites like Dj Hart, Dj Danceboy, J. Armond, Dj Sicx, Dj Whiteboy, Dj Flowchart and many others. He also was honored to host his first international Dj Illektrolab during this residency.

After this it appears the universe wanted him to move to Chicago and that is what happened. Now in Chicago he has found exactly what he has always been looking for. A diverse music scene, of which he fell particularly in love with an underground night called the Freakeasy, hosted by an amazing Dj/Producer Radiohiro (minimonk). From these musical experiences, the influences of his oldest and best freind all the way back from Hawaii Dj Datapimp, the existential experiences had by the amazing friends and people around him, and his own searching he has found his current evolution of love.. which is a combination of BPM's and styles between breaks, dubstep, dnb, midtempo, grime, glitch, and melody.

He is now finally working on his first production and hopes to create a song that might help change the world for the better in some small way, the same way music has changed his life for the better in such a great way.
